The EUROCARTO2020 will take place in the main building of the University of Vienna.

University of Vienna
University ring 1; 1010 Vienna

The main building of the University of Vienna on Vienna's Ringstraße was planned by architect Heinrich von Ferstel in the style of historicism and opened in 1884. In addition to the university administration, the university library, several institutes and administrative institutions are located here (in total, the University of Vienna's research and teaching facilities are spread over more than 60 locations). Due to its location in the historic city center of Vienna and its easy accessibility, the main building is a popular venue for national and international congresses. More than 25 lecture halls with modern technical equipment are available for events of all kinds. On the first floor there is an event area with the Main Ceremonial Hall, the Small Ceremonial Hall and the Senate Hall. Honors, receptions and similar prestigious events as well as lectures and exhibitions of various sizes find a very worthy setting here. The barrier-free auditorium with a modern information center leads to the arcade courtyard, where a cafeteria invites you to rest in the summer months. In the arcades, busts and statues are reminiscent of famous university teachers. The "collected knowledge" of the University of Vienna is provided in the University Library. More than seven million volumes, distributed over 72-km-long bookshelves, as well as around 10,000 electronic media (and access to 1,200 databases, 76,000 e-journals and 63,000 e-books) are available to readers.
